FF OCR is a basic optical character recognition plugin for Formidable Forms. FF OCR adds a new field to the builder, which allows for the magic to happen. We are utilizing the OCRSpace API, which provides a free (but very limited) license to complete the OCR scanning, which then puts the content of the PDF or Image file as text into a paragraph field that you designate in your form. You can purchase a different API Key from OCRSpace that gives you more functionality.
Perfect for receipt scanning, or if your looking to make the text on a pdf document searchable within your WordPress; especially if used in conjunction with our FF Master Search Plugin.
How do I use our OCR plugin?
1. Install plugin & active.
2. FF OCR new field will show under the field builder.
3. For the Autofill data, you will be able to use the Paragraph field.
4. You need to use the “js-auto-fill-text” class with the CSS Layout Classes field for the Paragraph field.
5. Set your API KEY within the FF OCR Options. For API KEY Change click the “Change OCR API Key” button under FF OCR Options. For free nothing need to add. You will be able to control the maximum upload size by FF OCR Options. (Limitation for free API: File Size Limit: 1 MB, 3 Page Limit at a time. For more info: https://ocr.space/OCRAPI .
